PROTOCOLS/GUIDELINES FOR VOTING DURING GENERAL ELECTIONS

The Public is hereby notified that the Elections Office along with the Ministry of Health are working towards finalizing COVID-19 protocols/guidelines to guide Electors, candidates and poll workers during the General Election to be held on 19th February 2021.

These protocols/guidelines will be based on the establish Public and Environmental Health (CVOID-19) Regulations made under the Public and Environmental Health Ordinance.

Speaking on the on protocols/guidelines the Supervisor of Elections stated that, “The team is working very hard to complete this work so that the public can read and be aware of the process for voting during this Covid-19 pandemic”. The Supervisor of Elections went on to say that, “Voting is a person’s constitutional right. We have to make sure that we capture all persons who are eligible to vote no matter their condition, so we are making sure we capture all the necessary health and safety measures to protect our Poll workers and the public while voting”.

The protocols/guidelines are in the process of consultation now and will be published as soon as possible.
