Job Description:

MINISTRY: Education, Youth, Culture, Social and Library Services

Under the supervision of the Accounting/Purchasing Officer, the Storekeeper receives and disburses goods and supplies; maintains the inventory system and assists with the processing of orders for the income-generating project


a. Receipt and Distribution of Stock
a. Checks and verifies goods received with purchase orders, invoices and delivery slips and reports any discrepancy to supervisor.
b. Submits suppliers’ invoices and goods received note/delivery slips to the accounts department for payment
c. Issues supplies, tools and equipment in accordance with established procedures.

b. Inventory Management
a. Updates stock cards, enters internal requisition and goods received note manually and electronically.
b. Sources items for purchasing
c. Maintains re-order level for all inventory items and makes requisition for purchasing accordingly.
d. Prepares receivable, usage, and variance reports in accordance with established procedures for submission to supervisor.
e. Conducts stock-taking at sub-stores as required.
f. Maintains accurate filing system of inventory records.
g. Maintains Fixed Asset Register.

c. Safety, Security and Quality Control Duties
a. Maintains the store environment in accordance with internal and external safety and hygiene standards
b. Ensures the security of goods in the stores

d. Other
a. Prepares and submits required reports in accordance with established procedures and time frame.
b. Adhere to all Public Service codes, rules and regulations
c. Perform other related tasks as assigned.

• NVQ-J Level II/ Four (4) IGCSE /CSEC General Proficiency level (including Mathematics & English).

Required Experience:

  • At least two (2) years’ experience in inventory management/purchasing/storekeeping

SALARY: Grade 4.1 - $21,935.00 per annum plus allowances
