Job Description:


This position maintains duties during normal working hours and after main office is

Close.  Securing and ensuring that the Service Users including Management and Staff

Home are safe. There is additional assigned responsibility to perform custodian duties

during their Hours of work whenever cleaners are complete for the day.


  • Notifies and dispatches Police, Fire, or Management staff to respond and resolve problems identified when necessary.
  • Maintain an attitude of professionalism among staff members and visiting experts.
  • Make regular rounds of the Safe House including all storage and grounds area both in and outside.
  • To respect the dignity of each service user and to strictly maintain confidentiality
  • To be the first contact with all persons wishing to enter the grounds of the safe house.
  • Deny entry to persons who do not comply with the policy of the home or who may be suspicious and uncooperative.
  • To check perimeters daily surrounding the Safe House, record that this is done and report any irregularities to the Safe House shift Manager immediately.
  • To be a constant lookout and to check all movement in and around the Safe House and record information on suspicious actions, persons and vehicles.
  • Must be able to comprehend both oral and written instructions and to communicate in English
  • Must be physically fit and able to climb, move quickly, lift objects, reach and stand on feet for long hours
  • Ability to carry out duties with a minimum of daily supervision and possess physical and mental ability to work independently
  • Ability to exercise good judgment within the limits of the position
  • Must be able to write clear and understanding report
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license to operate a vehicle
  • Perform any other related tasked that may be assigned
  • Adhere to all Public Service codes, rules and regulations



  • Experience in security work
  • Training in Customer service
  • Computer literati
  • Speaks, write and understands English
  • Have no criminal records


The position required a minimum of two (2) years on the job experience to acquire the necessary competencies to respond effectively to the challenges of the job.

SALARY:     Grade 5.1 - $27,716.00 per annum
