PUBLIC NOTICE

 

ELECTRICIAN LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION

 

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Public Utilities and Transportation wishes to notify all electrical practitioners to submit applications for renewal of their electrical licenses before August 1, 2019.

Completed License renewal applications can be submitted to the Planning Department in Providenciales located in Emily House, Leeward Highway.  Electrical practitioners on Grand Turk can submit renewal forms to the Planning Department located at South Base Grand Turk.  Electricians in the sister Islands can submit applications to the District Commissioner of the respective island.

 

The Electricity (Amendment) Ordinance 2015 states that, “no person shall carry out electrical work of any nature unless he holds a license issued by the Board authorizing him to do so and is licensed in one of the following categories;”

  1. Electrical Engineer
  2. Master Electrician
  3. Journeyman
  4. Wireman
  5. Linesman.
  6. Apprentice or
  7. Engineer-in-training

 

Any person who carries out any electrical work, electrical installation or electrical wiring without a license issued by the Board commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $5,000 or to a term of imprisonment of six months, or to both such fine and imprisonment

The Ministry anticipates the full cooperation of all electrical practitioners, property owners and members of the public.
