‘Laboratory Professionals get Results’ is the official slogan for Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, April 22- 28, 2018. Laboratory professionals’ week is an annual celebration of medical laboratory professionals who play a very important role in health care and patient management. Medical Laboratory Professionals Week (MLPW) is celebrated worldwide and provides the profession with a unique opportunity to increase public understanding of and appreciation for clinical laboratory personnel.

Beyond meeting this public need, the celebration of MLPW helped increase recognition for the profession as it improves the individual practitioner's sense of self-worth. Further, as the various professional groups within laboratory practice work together on this project, the sense of unity and purpose necessary to further the goals of all laboratorians are reinforced.

The Ministry of Health, Agriculture, Sports and Human Services marked MLPW by the following activities:

Monday, April 23rd – Opening ceremony at TCI Hospital Lobby – 9am The Public Health Laboratory relocated to # 10 Parade Avenue
