The Department of Statistics will be conducting a partial update of its Household Register from February 28th to March 31st, 2019. The Household Register provides a count of all households in the Turks and Caicos Islands. This is the first time since the 2012 Census that an update of the Household Register will be conducted. Trained enumerators will visit each building in selected enumeration districts to determine if they are occupied households, institutions or business establishments.
The listing exercise is of national importance as it will assist the government with policy development and decision making which will impact residents of the country. For this reason the department is asking the general public for its cooperation in this exercise. The conduction of this listing exercise will be in compliance with Section 12 of the Statistics Ordinance 2011. Your supplied information remains confidential to this office and will be used for statistical purposes only. Only aggregated data will be released and no individual household’s data will be provided to any person or entity as stipulated in Section 9 of the Ordinance. All enumerators are required to sign an Oath of Secrecy form binding them to confidentiality under the Statistics Ordinance 2011.
ALL interviewers are provided with an identification card with their name and picture as well as the Department of Statistics name and logo. Persons are urged to contact the department if there are doubts or concerns. Please feel free to call our offices at 649-347-4563 or 649-242-2175.
