General Information

The Ministry of Finance is primarily charged with the responsibility of effectively and efficiently managing the Government’s financial resources, by providing proactive and sound policy analysis, and advice on all fiscal, economic and development initiatives.

The Ministry of Finance is responsible for managing the Government’s finances, including revenue collection, budget preparation and monitoring, public expenditure, debt management and economic planning.

There are two (2) office locations for the Ministry of Finance. The Grand Turk office is located at the NJS Francis Building and the Providenciales office is located at Butterfield Square, Parade Avenue. Contact details and office hours are available on our Contact Us page.

Revenue and Taxation

The Ministry collects various taxes and fees including Stamp Duty, Business Licence Fees, Accommodation Tax, and other government levies.

You can pay your business licence fee online through the Government’s eServices portal or in person at the Revenue Department. Visit the Revenue Department’s website at www.gov.tc/revenue for forms and guidelines.

Budget

The Ministry prepares the annual budget. It is presented to Cabinet for approval. After which it progresses to Parliament for debate and passing. The budget outlines government spending priorities and revenue projections for the financial year.

Economic Planning and Investment

Through sound fiscal management, the Ministry helps create a stable economic environment to encourage investment, job creation, and sustainable growth.

Stamp Duty

Stamp Duty is a government tax imposed on certain legal documents, typically in the transfer of immovable property such as land and buildings. Stamp Duty collection is facilitated by the Ministry of Finance.

Exemptions or concessions may apply in certain cases, such as:

  • First-time Belonger buyers for certain value properties
  • Transfers between close family members
  • Government-approved development incentives
