PREMIER TOURED RITZ CARLTON RESORT
The Premier Honourable Charles Washington Misick met with the developers of the Ritz-Carlton Resort, currently under construction in Grace Bay, Providenciales on Friday, 26 February 2021.
The Premier toured the resort grounds and met briefly with the developers to discuss a number of pertinent matters prior to the opening of the resort. Premier Misick during the meeting emphasized the importance of inclusivity of the resort with a strong focus on the employment of Turks and Caicos Islanders, sustainability and environmental impact.
During the meeting, developers also gave updates on the progress of the construction and discussed the predicted impact on the tourism industry.
Premier Misick, commenting on the development stated, “It is important that we as a Government make clear our expectations to all developers and investors in these islands. Our number one priority is to ensure the employment of Turks and Caicos Islanders and second; to ensure the positive and upward growth of the TCI economy and our tourism industries.
This initial meeting was a welcomed opportunity to meet with and hear from the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and developers to ensure that our collective vision for this project is one in which Turks and Caicos Islanders are first and foremost the beneficiaries.
Our meeting was a productive one and I along with my Government look forward to a great working relationship with the company.”
The Minister for Infrastructure, Housing, Planning and Development, Honourable Akierra Missick and The Minister for Tourism, Environment Heritage, Maritime, Gaming and Disaster Management, Honourable Josephine Connolly joined the Premier for the tour of the resort.
The Ritz-Carlton Resort Turks and Caicos will feature 60 luxury-branded private condominiums and is scheduled to open summer 2021.
