‘Business Licence Amnesty Period for the Waiver of Penalties’
The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) within the Ministry of Finance, Investment & Trade would like to inform the public that the House of Assembly at its sitting on 28th March, 2022 passed the Business Licensing (Fees and Penalties) (Amnesty) Ordinance 2022 (hereinafter the Ordinance).
The Ordinance permits licence holders who have accrued penalties on licences that were not renewed for the periods:
- 2018/2019;
- 2019/2020;
- 2020/2021; and
- 2021/2022.
to benefit from a waiver. In order to qualify for the waiver, the outstanding fees are to be paid before the end of the Amnesty period which is from 1st April, 2022 to 30th June, 2022. Should the fees not be paid during the Amnesty period, the penalties will be revived and will once again become due and payable as of 1st July, 2022.
Licensees interested in benefitting from the Amnesty Waiver should visit the IRD at our offices in Grand Turk, Providenciales, or the District Commissioner’s Offices in the family Islands to make arrangements for payment commencing April 1st 2022. Unfortunately, the E-Services platform cannot be used to facilitate renewals for those licensees that wish to benefit from the Amnesty Waiver.
