Submission of Fraudulent Documents to the TCI Assured Portal

The Turks and Caicos Islands Government (TCIG) in July 2020 implemented the TCI Assured Portal; a pre-entry health screening system that is a requirement for all persons seeking entry into the TCI as a risk mitigation tool in the fight against the Novel Corona Virus 19 (COVID-19).

All persons seeking entry must submit a valid COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken via nasopharyngeal swab within 3 days prior to their date of arrival into the Islands. An official laboratory report must be submitted.

The Ministry of Tourism’s verification team has seen an increase in fraudulent documentation including vaccination cards being submitted to the TCI Assured Portal. Persons are strongly advised to discontinue this practice and are reminded that in accordance with the Arriving Passengers Health Clearance Regulations section:

Offence 19. Any person who— (a) gives false information when completing the Travel Authorisation Form under regulation 4; or (b) otherwise contravenes the provisions of these Regulations, commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of five thousand dollars or to a term of imprisonment for three months, or to both.

The Ministry is working with key stakeholders including the Department of Immigration, Ministry of Health and the Royal Turks and Caicos Police Force. We wish to emphasize that all suspected incidences will be reported to the Immigration Department and the Police. All the necessary action will be taken to ensure that persons found in contravention of the aforementioned regulations are persecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
