BOTC PASSPORTS

The Department of Citizenship and Naturalization, within the Ministry of Home Affairs, wishes to remind all Turks and Caicos Islands citizens of the importance of checking the validity of their passports, whether they have immediate plans to travel or not, and especially before purchasing airline tickets.

Therefore, when traveling your Passport MUST be valid for at least six months.

The Passport Office strongly recommends that you apply for a new passport 10 weeks (about 2 and a half months) before you are due to travel.

The Department further advises that strict guidelines govern the issuance of BOTC emergency passports, which will be considered under the following conditions:

· Request from InterHealth Canada regarding an EMERGENCY transfer of a patient to another country outside the Turks and Caicos Islands.

· Urgent business travel by Government Officials and Parliamentarians.

· Any other travel that may be considered on compassionate grounds.
