Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)
Anyone can contact the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) which is an arm of the Department of Social Development and Welfare if there is a concern or worried about a child you believe has been harmed or is at risk of harm. 338 4013 Referrals. 338 3680 Manager. On Call 242 6274
The law prohibits Child Protection Services from disclosing the identity of the person who provided the information to the Department. The MASH is made up of Social Workers, Police officers, Health care – Doctors all working together to address the child abuse matters that presents.
The MASH team does the preliminary work within 30 days and then turns over the client to DSD Social Worker for further intervention. The overarching deliberation of the child protection is covered in the Children Care and Protection Ordinance. TCIG has a Safeguarding Children’s Board which assists in the oversight of such matters.
