POST CABINET MEETING STATEMENT- 18TH AND 19TH JUNE 2026

Cabinet Statements

Her Excellency Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam chaired the 18th meeting of the Cabinet held on Thursday June 18 and Friday June 19, 2026, at the Premier’s Office, Providenciales. All members of Cabinet were present with the exception of the Hon. Rhondalee Knowles, with Khalila Astwood sitting as acting Attorney General and H.E. Deputy Governor with Athenee Harvey-Basden sitting as acting Deputy Governor. 

At this meeting Cabinet: 

  • Approved Planning Application NC 1315. 

  • Approved the Turks and Caicos Government 4th Quarter Financial Report 2025-26. 

  • Approved the Turks and Caicos Government April 2026 Financial Report. 

  • Approved the appointment of the following persons to the National Wealth Fund Board for a period of three (3) years commencing from July 1, 2026, 

  • Ruth Forbes as Chairmen as per Section 19 (1) (e) of the NWFA 

  • Brenesha Cox-Lightbourne as a member as per Section 19 (1) (e) of the NWFA 

  • Anton Faessler as per Section 19 (1) (e) of the NWFA 

  • Hon. Floyd Seymour as per Section 19 (1) (e) of the NWFA 

  • Benjamin Durham as per Section 19 (1) (e) of the NWFA 

  • Approved the Reinstatement on the Moratorium on the Issuance of New Business Licences in the Contractor’s Category. 

  • Noted the United Kingdom Department of Business and Trade’s Call for Input on Potential Powers to Protect the UK from Adverse Economic Pressure. 

  • Approved the appointment to the National Tobacco Control Board for a period of two (2) years commencing July 1st 2026,

  • Noted an update on the Nat8ional Health Insurance Board Progress and Key Reform initiatives. 

  • Noted an update on the Mental Health Services in the Turks and Caicos Islands: Escalating Demand, Workforce risks and Priority Investments. 

  • Approved the appointment and revocation of Members of the Turks and Caicos Islands Civil Aviation Authority Board and the Air Transport Licensing Authority for a period of 3 years. 

  • Approved the appointment as Chairman of the TCICAA Board, effective 22 June 2026

  • Approved the appointment as Director of the TCICAA Board, effective 22 June 2026 

 Ms. Bianca Harvey 

  • Approved the appointment as Member of ATLA, effective 22 June 2026 

 Mr. Keith Malcolm 

  • Approved the revocation of appointment as Member of ATLA, effective 22 June 2026 

 Mr. Owen Hamilton 

  • Approved the revocation of appointment as Acting Chairman of the TCICAA Board, effective 22 June 2026 

 Mr. Chester Robinson 

  • Noted and approved the governance safeguards and recusal requirements applicable to Mr. Keith Malcolm’s appointment to ATLA, effective 22 June 2026 by the responsible Minister. 

  • Noted the official date for the 6th Annual National Prayer Breakfast as July 18th 2026. 

  • Received and update on the issuance of South Caicos Electricity Bills and Substantial increase in the Fuel Factor. 

  • Approved Planning Application SC 900. 

  • Approved the reappointment of a Member to the Board of Directors for the Airport Authority for a period of two (2) years. 

  • Albright Gardiner – Member 

  • Approved the assessment of Sanctions in relation to International Hotels Investments PLC and Corinthia Hotels Limited. 

  • Approved the Invest Turks and Caicos Islands Agency (Validation) Bil 2026. 

  • Approved the Revised Guidelines for the Moratorium on Certain Developments in Providenciales and Confirmation of Implementation. 

  • Approved Project Specific Rent review and Lease Framework for long-term commercial Crown Land Lease for proposed resort development on Salt Cay.
