Her Excellency Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam chaired the 23rd meeting of the Cabinet held Wednesday July 22nd, at the Premier’s Office, Grand Turk. All members of Cabinet were present with the exception of the H.E. Anya Williams- Deputy Governor, Hon. Rachel Taylor, Minster for Education.
At this meeting Cabinet:
Approved, subject to further stakeholder engagement, the draft framework for a Points Based System as the operative framework for the award of Residence and Employment Rights Certificates in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Approved the estimates for the 1st Supplementary Appropriation for FY 2026/27 for submission to the Parliament.
Noted the findings of the Ministry of Home Affairs’ audit of the Public Service Vehicles licence quota and the licenses issued.
Approved the final draft of the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations 2026.
Approved the Customs (Importation of Alcohol and Tobacco) (Application and Fees) Order 2026.
Approved the recommendation, subject to statutory requirements, for Mr. Travis Handfield to be appointed as a member of the Mortgage Corporation Board of Directors.
Received a presentation from Pelican Energy.
Noted the report of the Actuarial Review of the National Health Insurance Plan as of March 31, 2023.
Approved the introduction of the Customs (Amendment) Bill 2026 to formally establish a legislative framework for Post-Clearance Audits under the Customs Act.
Approved the potential acquisition of parcels of land in Bottle Creek North Caicos for public use.
Noted the previous round robin approval of the Real Estates (Brokers and Salesmen) Licensing (Amendment) |Regulations 2026.
