It is with an esteem privilege that I pen this greetings to the students of the Turks and Caicos Islands, especially those who continue to pursue their studies at the tertiary level, whether at the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College or abroad.
As Minister of Education, it is my responsibility to empower our students through education. It is imperative of me to ensure that the pathway to receiving a scholarship is fair, transparent and in the best interest of our country.
The opportunity to receive a scholarship should be taken with great pride and esteem, as our students continue to work assiduously in an effort to produce impressive GPAs that have deemed them qualified for such an award. I take this opportunity to congratulate all our awardees and encourage them to work consistently and persistently in their endeavors to produce quality work that will enable them to compete amongst the best in their field of work. It is important that our students prepare themselves to capture and demand the jobs that they seek after.
As Minister of Labour and Employment Services, I will continue to put mechanisms in place, so that you are given opportunities that will motivate, enable and prepare you to take up your rightful position in our Beautiful By Nature Turks and Caicos Islands.
I take this opportunity to encourage our students to return home upon the completion of their studies, your country will need your skills and talents to propel us as a nation of highly skilled local labour force. Students, you are TCI bright future. Dream the impossible dream and set high goals in an effort to attain them. Shine bright like a diamond! You are TCIs greatest treasure.
Congratulations awardees and continue to do well!
