JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Manager will be responsible for planning and overseeing the Department’s ongoing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Responsibilities include submitting project deliverables, preparing status reports, and establishing effective project communication plans as well as the proper execution of said plans. Project Manager will report directly to the Senior Project Manager.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determine and define project scope and objectives.
- Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
- Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements.
- Track project costs in order to meet budget.
- Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
- Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
- Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
- Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.
- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Utilise project plans and schedules to monitor all activities.
- Manage relationships amongst stakeholders by building confidence and trust with clear professional communications and assured expectation management.
- Record information accurately and consistently using appropriate systems and submit to Supervisor for review.
- Develop project plans that identify resource and budgetary needs and share with Supervisor for final approval.
- Prepare progress reports and submit to Supervisor for review.
- Conduct reviews to assess project outcomes and to identify and capture lessons learned to enable continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as needed.
- Research Industry trends and innovations.
- Ensure that health and safety laws are followed.
- Conduct on-site visits as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in project management, business management or related area of study.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
Experience:
- Proven experience of 3-5 years as a Project Manager or similar position.
- Proven experience in project management
- Experience as a construction project manager, IT project manager, or ERP project manager.
- Budget management experience.
- Experience overseeing a construction project.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with industry-standard word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software programs.
SALARY: GRADE 6.1 $45,992.00 per annum
