Responsible for the repair and servicing of Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force vehicles. The incumbent is required to perform regular vehicle servicing and maintenance troubleshooting of faults and to effect repairs.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Conduct inspections, testing and diagnosing of vehicles faults
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters
- Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components
- Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems
- Document all vehicle service and repair activities
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
- Visit other Islands to perform scheduled repairs and maintenance to RTCIPF vehicles
- Adhere to all rules, regulations and Police Code of Ethics
- Other related tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
Qualifications:
· Essential: High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience of 5 years
· Highly desirable: A certificate in automotive technology or
· A1 – A8 Automotive Service Excellence Certification (ASE) or equivalent.
Experience:
- 2– 3 years of experience in vehicle maintenance and repairs
- 1 year of management/supervisory experience is desirable.
Salary: Grade 6 $ 34,751.60 USD per annum
