JOB SUMMARY:
This is a Law Enforcement position which supports the Senior Immigration officers and by extent the Border control and Enforcement (Immigration Department). The purpose of the job is to perform joint duties with other sections within the department and with various Government Departments.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the collection of Immigration records relating to their assigned unit
Compile reports and statistical data for submission to the Director and other relevant authorities through the section heads
Examine persons on arrival and admit or refuse them admission in accordance with the Immigration Ordinance and regulation
Act as a Senior Immigration officer in their absence
Perform shift duties at all ports of entry
To assist the general public effectively in a courteous manner
Adhere to all Public Service codes, rules and regulations
Perform other related tasks as defined.
Qualifications:
Associate Degree in relevant area; or internal applicants, 4 CXC or its equivalent passes at a high level with English Language or its equivalent, and a pass in the internal Examination on Immigration Issues, which will be considered as an equivalent to an Associate’s degree as recognition of prior learning.
Experience:
A minimum of four years’ experience in Immigration Services.
SALARY: Grade 5.1 - $28,547.48 per annum
