JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of this job is to provide administrative support to the Director of the Statistics Authority as well as provide support and assistance to the Board. In addition, the role is responsible for the facilitation of Human Resources processes and day-to-day employee support.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Anticipate needs and provide high-level, tailored support to Director.
- Taking the lead on strategic initiatives as directed by the Director.
- Prepare draft emails and other correspondence for the Director. Prepare key documents for signature, comments, decision, or action.
- Maintain a diary, arrange meetings and appointments, and provide reminders.
- Develop and carry out an efficient documentation and filing system.
- Create and or adapt presentations to be made by the Director.
- Organizing/coordinating Director’s as well as other members of staff travel, both domestically and internationally.
- Organize board meetings including agenda, minutes, and follow-up.
- Act as the point of contact between the executives and internal/external clients.
- Handle requests and queries appropriately.
- Encourage and maintain a high level of teamwork and a positive and cohesive work environment.
- Perform other administrative duties as needed.
HUMAN RESOURCES DUTIES
- Provides advice, assistance, and follow-up on employment law, company policies, procedures and documentation to Directors and Managers.
- Maintain human resources databases and employee records as required.
- Orient new employees by providing orientation information packets and reviewing company policies.
- Assist with the recruitment and interview processes.
- Serve as the link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies, and helping to resolve work-related problems. Recommend and implement the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries.
- Develop job advertisements and post vacant positions.
- Prepare new hire offer letters and packages.
- Regularly update and modify job descriptions when position responsibilities and duties change.
- Manage annual performance review process.
- Perform specific research and/or HR investigations as requested.
- Develop and/or update company policies as needed.
- Implement rollout of new and/or updated HR programs and initiatives.
- Perform any other human resource duties that may be assigned by the Director
QUALIFICATIONS
- This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management/Social Science/Public Administration or equivalent. A Master’s Degree would be an asset.
OR
- This position requires a High School Diploma. Evidence of enrollment in a Degree program would be a must.
EXPERIENCE
- This position requires at least 3 years of practical experience in the functions of Human Resource Management, or 5 years of equivalent experience in an administrative field with HR exposure.
COMPENSATION:
SALARY: Grade - $48,000 per annum plus allowance
