Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – Friday, 27th February 2026: The 3rd Annual Local Studies Competition will take place on Monday, 2 March 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at the Gustavus Lightbourne Sports Complex. The event is set to deliver a suspenseful and exhilarating showcase of knowledge as students from across the Turks and Caicos Islands compete in a dynamic Jeopardy-style format. Participants will be tested on their understanding of the nation’s history, heritage, geography, and national identity in an exciting display of academic excellence and cultural pride.
Hosted in observance of Education Week 2026 under the theme “Where Parents Lead, Children Succeed,” the competition highlights the powerful connection between education, culture, and community engagement. The initiative continues to strengthen partnerships between the Department of Education and the Department of Culture and Heritage, reinforcing the importance of nurturing informed, confident, and culturally aware young leaders.
