Membership is free to residents of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Applicants must provide a valid form of identification. Non-residents must provide a valid passport and proof of a temporary address in Turks and Caicos.

There is a refundable fee of twenty United States dollars ($20.00), payable upon presentation of the receipt, the return of all books and payment of any fine.

Books are loaned for a period of two weeks. Your books will each be stamped with a return date so you know when the books are due to be returned to the library.

Patrons can however request an extension for the loan period.

You can renew you books by phone or in person.

By phone – You can get the telephone number for the library on your island here. Please have the due date for the return of your books available and be prepared to confirm your identity. You must indicate to the staff which books you wish to renew.

In person – Take the books you wish to renew to the circulation desk at your library. Staff will assist you in renewing the items.

Please note that items can only be renewed once, also, if one or more items is overdue or you have fines against your name, you will not be able to renew your items.

Both adults and children are allowed to borrow three books at a time. However, with the discretion of the Librarian, persons may be permitted to borrow up to three additional items.

Please return your books to the Library on the island from which you borrowed them. The Library Service appreciates the prompt return of all books as this ensures that other patrons have access to the titles as soon as they are returned.

There is no cost to both residents and non-residents to access computer and Internet service at any of the libraries.

Yes. Printing and photocopying services are available at a cost to patrons regardless of having membership. Black and white prints/copies cost $0.50 each and colour prints/copies cost $1.00 each.

No. You only need membership if you wish to borrow items from the Library

Yes, the library service has a limited amount of books on CD’s. We also have magazines, newspapers, DVD’s and Gazettes. Holdings will vary at each Library. We also provide access to a large E-Book collection on the EBSCO platform. Ask your local Librarian for details.
