CONTINUED VOTER REGISTRATION
The Supervisor of Elections takes this opportunity to remind all that voter registration in the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) is a continuous process, and that in accordance with the Elections Ordinance, he is required to produce and publish an Electors’ Register every year.
‘The Electors’ Register’, he said, ‘for 2021/2022 will be produced and published on March 31, 2021. The cut-off date for accepting applications for persons to be added to that Register is Monday, November 30, 2020, at 4:30pm.’
The Supervisor is appealing to eligible voters who did not take the opportunity to register for the 2020/2021 Register to take this opportunity to register.
For voter registration, applicants must complete and sign the required Registration Application Form, and must present a Status Card issued by the Ministry of Border Control.
Persons who were previously registered do not have to re-register as their names will remain on the Electors’ Register.
The Supervisor further stated that the 2020/2021 Electors’ Register produced and published on March 31, 2020, will be the Electors’ Register used to facilitate the up-coming general elections. He lamented that no additional names will be added to that Register at this time.
All new applicants will be added to the 2021/2022 Electors’ Register and, therefore, will not be eligible to vote in the up-coming general elections.
