Mobile Food Facility Operations

The Environmental Health Department is responsible for inspecting all retail food facilities in the Turks & Caicos Islands, including Mobile Food Facilities (MFF).

​The Mobile Food Facility Construction Guide is intended for anyone planning to construct or remodel a mobile food facility for use in the Turks & Caicos Islands. Mobile food facilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Motorized ice cream trucks
  • Motorized produce trucks
  • Hot dog carts, and other types of pushcarts
  • Mobile food preparation units (hot food trucks)
  • Stationary mobile food preparation units

​Frequently asked questions provides an overview of the requirements to operate these units, including useful information for construction of new units, modification of existing ones and changes of ownership.
