In February 2017, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing, and Planning of Turks and Caicos issued an invitation to tender for the preparation of a 10-year National Physical Sustainable Development Plan (NPSDP) for the Turks and Caicos Islands. The generation of the National Physical Sustainability Development Plan is a 5 step process, which endeavors to set forth a framework for the development of the Archipelago.

Presentation to TCI Cabinet - December 2020
The National Physical Development Plan was presented to the TCI Cabinet for final approval and adoption. The NPDP was approved and adopted.

The site visits to date took place 20-24 January 2020, 10-14 February 2020, and 9-18 March 2020. The team has visited all islands - Providenciales, North Caicos, Middle Caicos, South Caicos, Grand Turk, and Salt Cay. While all islands have been visited, the team does plan to visit each island again for additional meetings and site exploration pending travel restrictions from COVID-19.
COVID-19 has paused the site visits the consultant team plans to make the Turks and Caicos Islands. When deemed safe to travel, the team plans to complete other site visits to the islands, including meeting with the general public (Public Outreach #2 and #3,) as well as other governmental agencies and leaders and other key stakeholders.
