Wayneworth G. Hamilton is a very thorough individual with a profound attention to detail, a true team player who operates on a very cerebral premise. He is perennially conscious of his responsibility to his fellow professionals, his dynamic role in Built Environment and wider society and as such display the traits personally and professionally characterizing a leader in the geospatial industry.
Wayneworth has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with First Class Honours in Surveying and Geographic Information Sciences and a Master of Science Degree in Built Environment majoring in Construction Management from the University of Technology, Jamaica in 2012 and 2015 respectively.
Wayneworth is a recipient of the coveted Newsome, McCook & Associates Award (2012) for the best academic performance in Land Surveying & G.I.S., the Laurence Neufville Award (2015) for the best academic performance, and best research project at the post-graduate level. Additionally, Wayneworth has been awarded the prestigious University of Technology, Jamaica 60th Anniversary Outstanding Alumni Award for Service to University and Country (2019).
Wayneworth has over 20 years of experience in land surveying in Jamaica. He has an impressive list of completed projects which include Sandals South Coast, Sangster International Airport, Maude McLeod High School, North Stand Sabina Park, Innercity Housing – Kingston, Soapberry Wastewater Treatment Plant, Carib Cement Mill No.5, Lot2A Water Distribution Project, New Harbour Village II Housing Development, St. Jago Hills Subdivision, Ground Control Survey of LiDAR Survey for Norman Manley International Airport, Beach Nourishment Survey - Sandals Negril, Westend Basic School - Negril and Sandals Boat Yard – Montego Bay.
Wayneworth has attained the professional status of Commissioned Land Surveyor in Jamaica in 2016 and operated his consultancy as a Geo-Information Management Consultant and Project Manager. He has lectured at the University of Technology, Jamaica in the School of Building and Land Management at the associate, and baccalaureate levels in the Land Surveying and Geographic Information Sciences and at the graduate level in the Master of Science in Built Environment Programme.
Wayneworth has held the positions of Chairman of Recruitment & Marketing, Committee Membership in Quality Assurance and Faculty Graduate Research & Entrepreneurship, Advisor to the Land Surveyors Club, Internship Coordinator and Coordinator for Advanced Placement of Land Surveying Students. Additionally, Wayneworth was also an adjunct lecturer at the HEART College of Innovation and Technology, Jamaica in the Geomatics and G.I.S programme.
Wayneworth has a keen interest in research, publications, and media. He was a columnist in the Western Mirror with his very impactful and educational column titled “Your Land & You” in addition to his Podcast titled “Kicking It With The Pros”.
Wayneworth is a member of the Land Surveyors Association of Jamaica, a member of the Kiwanis Club of Montego Freeport, where he served as secretary and a Justice of the Peace in the Parish of Saint James, Jamaica.
